Treevision is the name of the
ALERE feature
that is used to display complex inter-related data.
Treevision works like Microsoft Windows Explorer using
plus (+) marks to indicate that there is further data below the level
displayed. Clicking on the plus (+) mark expands the tree to show that
related data. Take,
for example, the ALERE Accounting Chart of Accounts (COA) displayed to
the right. Using Treevision you can not only display the COA but
you can also construct and modify it on the fly, drill down to
individual accounts to see there balances, and even trace the
transactions that make up the balances to the original document that
produced them!
Treevision is:
-
Intuitive to use.
-
Provides an excellent
overview of complex data while at the same time permitting you to
drill down to the details.
-
Eliminates the need
for perhaps dozens and dozens of supporting screens that would
otherwise be necessary.
Treevision is used
throughout ALERE in many different roles. For example, the screen to the
right displays a Bill of Material (BOM) in ALERE Manufacturing. The plus (+) mark indicates that there
are either other bills or
components indented beneath the item
displayed. Simply click of the plus (+) mark to expand the tree to
display the indented level. The mark turns into a negative (-) sign to
show it is open. Click the negative (-) sign to close the level.
Small icons can be embedded in Treevision to help
identify what the different levels in the bill represent.
