The
SOC supports kits. When an order is taken for a kit it is placed on
order and the components of the kit are allocated in inventory. When the
kit is shipped the components are issued from inventory, a kit is placed
in inventory and then issued.
However,
the SOC provides capabilities way beyond simple kits. You can:
Use of
Modular and Variable choices to configure the
kit.
Specify
which components to include in the kit and their quantity while
taking the order.
The kit components
are allocated in real time in inventory.
Include
the kits and components as part of the MRP process in WorkShop.
Print s sales
order picking ticket for kit components.
Automatically
issue the components from inventory when the kit is shipped.
Optionally
over ship missing kit components.
The rules for
kits are constructed in the WorkShop
BOM
Module. To fully utilize the features just described, you will need
the SOC, a compatible accounting package, and the WorkShop WS and BOM
Modules. For
companies that would like to only do simple kitting, we suggest the SOC,
a compatible accounting package and shopLink. This combination provides
a low cost solution that can always be upgraded to include configuration
capabilities at a later date by adding WorkShop. |
