The HTML manual cannot be viewed when the Help button is
selected. |
The problem is caused by the Microsoft Security Update 896358.
The update apparently prevents CHM (compiled HTML files) from being
viewed when they are being loaded from a network drive or remote server.
The solution is to copy the manual (aleremanual.chm or
workshop.chm) to the TIWRUN directory on each local work station. Then follow these instructions.
- Start the program (ALERE or WorkShop) and go to Manager > System
Tools > Access FoxPro.
- On the command line type in USE WSHOOKS and select the Enter
key.
- Then type in BROW and select the Enter key.
- Add a record by holding down the Ctrl key and hitting
Y.
- In the Hookname column enter STARTUP (in caps) then use the Tab
key to move to the next field.
- Enter SET HELP TO (enter the path to TIWRUN and the program).
Example: C:\TIWRUN\ALEREMANUAL.CHM or C:\TIWRUN\WORKSHOP.CHM
- Save the record by holding down the Ctrl key and hitting
W.
- Type USE and select the Enter key.
- Type EXIT and select the Enter key.
- You should be back in the program and ready to use the HTML
manual. This only needs to be done once for each product on the
server.
