WorkShop v9.0/shopLink v5.0 and Pro 7.4 Compatibility

Pro v7.4 made two key changes that affect the integration of WorkShop and shopLink.

The field for GL periods was increased from two (2) characters to three (3).
Account numbers can be up to 36 characters wide.

Development has provided the following updates to WorkShop and shopLink. With the updates both products will support the three character wide GL period fields and 36 character wide accounts up to six segments.

The WS9TOPRO74PATCH.ZIP is 195KB in size and is for WorkShop. The LK5TOPRO74PATCH.ZIP is 192KB in size and is for shopLink. Neither patch requires that you install other patches first.

Unzip the patch .zip file to a temporary directory.
Make sure no one is in WorkShop/shopLink. If using SOC, make sure no one is in your linked Accounting Sales Orders.
Copy unzipped file to the WorkShop/shopLink Root directory, replacing existing file of same name.
Update is complete.

Note: If transactions were posted to Pro 7.4 from WorkShop 9.0 before this patch was installed, it will be necessary to go into the Pro file ICDISTxx and correct information in 2 columns. The GLACNT field will have it's data truncated. You need to fill in the remainder of the account number. The GLPER field is also truncated, you need to fill in the 3rd character for the period number.

The 36CharGLUpdate.zip is 1KB in size and applies equally to WorkShop and shopLink. The patch deals with the link to Pro 7.4 to allow 36 character GL. This update does not require that you install other patches first. It should only be installed if you intend to use greater than 24 characters in your GL Account Numbers!

Unzip the patch .zip file to a temporary directory.
Make sure no one is in WorkShop/shopLink. If using SOC, make sure no one is in your linked Accounting Sales Orders.
Copy unzipped file to the WorkShop/shopLink Root directory, replacing existing files of same name.
For WorkShop, go to WS Manager> System Tools> TIW File Update. For shopLink, go to System > TIW File Update.
Update all System Tables (Combo box at bottom of screen set to "System Tables Only")
When done with the update, completely exit the program.
Update is complete.
